How do you prepare yourself in an interview? Me, I already experienced being interviewed by British, American, Australian and of course Filipino and this are the things that I can share.
*Arrive in few minutes early before the interview.
*Fill out an application form you're presented neatly and completely.
*Shake hands firmly.
*Wait until offered a chair before sitting. Sit upright and look alert and interested at all times. Be a good listener as well as a good talker.
*Make eye to eye contact during the interview.
*Make sure you know what you are applying for and the duties and responsibilities.
*Make sure that your strengths are presented to the interviewer in a factual and sincere manner.
*Be prepare to answer typical/simple questions.
*Don't answer questions with a simple “yes” or “no”.
*Don't lie.
*Don't make derogatory remarks about your present or former employees.
*Don't over-answer questions.
*Don't enquire about salary, holidays or bonuses at the initial interview, unless you are certain the interviewer is interested in hiring you.
*Be comfortable and make yourself presentable :)
I am preparing myself for another interview. In few months time I will be interviewed again by an Australian employer. Fingers cross everything will turn out OK. Hopefully my husband will find a job as well that will fit to his qualification or maybe a public sector jobs will do.
