The worry of finding presents for all your friends and family is bad enough, but experts warn Christmas shopping could also be damaging your health. Fighting through crowds of shoppers to pick up perfect gifts is pushing up your blood pressure – sometimes to dangerous levels.
High blood pressure can lead to hypertension, which increases your risk of stroke, heart disease, and kidney problems. Even low levels of hypertension have been linked to panic attacks and migraines – common side effects of Christmas shopping!
Researchers from the University of East London monitored 30 men and women while they were asked to shop for a variety of gifts in one hour and 15 minutes. Their findings revealed that heart rates increased by an average of 10 per cent, while blood pressure rose to dangerous levels in 50 per cent of the shoppers.
The idea that women enjoy shopping was also revealed to be a myth, as men felt twice as stressed after the exercise, but women were almost three times as stressed. Moneysupermarket Shopping, who conducted the survey, said the findings mirrored to the site's own evidence that more of us are choosing to browse the internet for gifts, rather than the High Street.

A Bit Overweight
I am a bit obsessed with my weight because in just few months I gained about one stone or six kilos. Yes I am a bit overweight now, I knew that :) But what can I do? Every time I think about dieting and exercising, the more I become lazy and eat a lot. I know I need to make action about it or else I will make myself more fat. Thinking about my weight issues makes me want to take diet pills. Hmmm...I will think about it.
Party Dress
Supposed to be the party that I attended last night was 70's theme. But I did not find any from the high street stores and I don't want to buy a dress from the Internet in case it will not fit. I went to a fancy dress store as well that is for hire but the man said that he already lent 200 dresses in 70's style, so all the dresses left are not so nice. So I decided to wear this attire :) Not 70's but a nice dress to wear for a party :)

Crazy About Books
My eldest daughter is crazy about books. She borrow about 20 to 30 books from the library and that's every week. She borrow books from the school too and I do buy her sometimes. She read anything from novels, science, history and anything that interest her. No wonder she is gifted. So I am thinking of giving her a personalized books this Christmas. I'm sure she will be over the moon.
The Model Wannabe
Once in a while me and my friends go out to dine out and hang out somewhere nice but usually with our hubbies and kids. This time we went out without them. Yay! As you can see I enjoyed it, that made me turn into a model for a while :) So maybe will gonna do this more often.
I Miss My Car
I don't have a car for four months now and I missed it badly. Since my car was an old one, it did not passed the yearly test. And if I will have it fixed, it will cost me a lot. So I decided not to have it repaired. Also, it is not practical to get another one since we are planning to move to Australia and my husband got a car anyway. It will be nice though, when we get there I will have my own and to make it unique I will have a tire chains installed. That will be interesting.
Shopaholic
Did I mention that I love to shop? Yes I really do. It makes me alive :) That even I am tired or from a night shift, I can still go shopping the whole day. I know with the credit crunch that we are experiencing right now I need to minimize my shopping, which I am doing right now. Prom Dresses Memories
I remember the first time I wore a prom dress. I was on my third year high school and my Aunt forced me to joined into a beauty pageant because I was very childish and a bit boyish. She want me to learned and act like my age so she decided that it will be a good training for me. She trained me so hard that I learned how to walk straight with a book on my head wearing high heels.
